Topographic Relief Map

$250 · 9″ × 9″

A carved wooden map of any place you choose: the mountain you climbed, the lake you grew up on, the town that feels like home. It's built from real elevation data, so every ridge and valley is where it actually is, and the water is poured in blue epoxy.

You'll see renders of your map before I carve anything.

Water: Blue epoxy
Finish: Mineral oil or Rubio Monocoat
Render: Within a week
Ships in: 1–2 months

Questions

About the maps

Can you add names, trails, or a marker?

Yes. Place names, a trail, a cabin, a pin where you got engaged. Engraving is laser-cut into the wood, and it shows up in your render first.

Which wood should I pick?

Walnut is dark and dramatic, oak and birch are light and show the shadows best, mahogany sits in between. If you're not sure, I'll recommend one for your place.

Can I hang it?

Yes. On request, maps come with a keyhole hanger, or a French cleat for larger framed pieces.
